The use of MAT between white patients and black patients

HPIO releases Ohio Addiction Policy Inventory and Scorecard: Prevention, Treatment and Recovery

As national drug overdose rates climbed in recent years, white patients were given more prescriptions for medication-assisted treatment. There was no such increase for African Americans, according to a new national study (Source: “Addiction Medicine Mostly Prescribed to Whites, Even As Opioid Deaths Rose among Blacks,” Kaiser Health News, May 8, 2019).


AMA prior authorization survey - impact on patients (findings from 2018)

In case you missed it, the AMA conducted a survey of 1,000 practicing physicians (40% primary care and 60% specialists) asking for feedback on prior authorizations and its impact on patients.
